I help small businesses and departments inside larger businesses with their business software needs. I help them improve on the sofware they're using so they can grow. I work with business owners and managers to solve issues they have with their current software, or to acquire new software. How much do you charge? What's your hourly rate? I provide solutions in the form of projects. I don't charge for my service by the hour. I set a fixed fee with a specified payment schedule so a client will know exactly how much and when I will bill for a project. This is a common problem with databases. The same information is entered multiple ways so that it becomes difficult to run reports or queries to get accurate information out of the system. A related issue is when the same data field is used for different types of information at different times. An example would be using a field for a fax number, and later using it for an email address. Which business types or industries do you work with? I normally work with almost any type of business that provides services or that sells products. A couple of exceptions would be standardized medical practices and automotive shops. That's because these businesses have choices of ready-made solutions (i.e., software packages) for their industries. Only if they have certain unique processes would it make sense for me to work with them. What geographic area do you serve? I'm located near Baltimore, Maryland, but I'm available nationwide. I can work remotely and also send out a representative in parts of the country distant from my home base.
